Verdant Visions Horticultural Planning is a garden design business whose goal is to provide garden design plans that are: specifically tailored to a client's “horticultural visions”; designed to be in harmony with the environment; and complementary to the style of the client's home.

At Verdant Visions Horticultural Planning, I am grounded in my mission to provide the seeds of knowledge to achieve your vision. The company came into being in 2000. I wanted to provide a service that I knew many people wanted, but often had a difficult time finding. During my years working in the green industry, I noticed that many times a customer wanted either a professional consultation, or desired a garden design plan that they themselves could install according to their time and budget needs. However, many companies offered the design plan only as part of their installation package. Or, a company would do a generalized design sketch without many details.

Sometimes people may not have the budget to allow for a landscape company to do the installation, but they don't mind doing the planting themselves over a period of time to save money. Some people actually enjoy doing the planting themselves; they just want a professional design plan that is easy for them to follow. With this in mind, I began planning a business that would address this need. My mission was to provide professional advice and detailed, creative garden design plans. I wanted to teach my clients to view garden design as a dynamic process. I wanted to guide my clients in the creative process, showing them the best way to achieve their vision in a way that is beneficial to both themselves and our environment.

As the garden design professional at Verdant Visions Horticultural Planning, I aim to make the garden design experience holistic, combining the practical with the aesthetic. I consider listening to the client the hallmark of my service. During the design process, I ask questions to “get inside of your head”, to find out what it is that you are envisioning for your garden landscape. I ask about likes/dislikes, your purpose for the garden and anything else that can assist me in creating the design plan for your garden landscape. At Verdant Visions Horticultural Planning, I encourage a more creative and individual style through the use of unique plants and garden design layout that works with the land.
